We are one of New Jersey’s top escape rooms. We are passionate about providing unique and original escape rooms to our players. We take pride in creating original puzzles and logically merging them with stories.

Who we are looking for

Looking for an outgoing, creative, and dedicated to customer experience game guide. Our ideal candidate is passionate about escape games, is patient and polite, is able to think on his/her feet and pays great attention to detail.

What you’ll do

Greet the players
Present the rules and story to the players
Observe gameplay and provide hints
Reset the game room after the games
Do some light cleaning
Make sure our players have fun

Having any of the following is a plus

Acting experience / Role-playing experience
Basic knowledge of Photoshop / Social Media
Basic handyman skills
Basic electronics skills

Schedule

This is a part-time job. Working Saturdays, Sundays and every other Friday is a must! During the week we have additional shifts. All days have morning and evening shifts. The morning shift starts around 10am and ends around 5pm, the evening shift starts around 4pm and ends around 11pm.

Wages

$15.25 to $18 per hour

Electronics specialist

The Other Tales, one of the top Escape Room companies in New Jersey, is looking for an expert in microelectronics to work on exciting escape room projects. We build our story-based escape games ourselves, from concept to production, and we are always looking for a new way to make our games fun, exciting and memorable. We are looking for a person to both work on our new projects and to help provide support of our currently running games.

We pay for the work on a per-project basis. The rates are commensurate with the experience and are open for negotiations.

Typical projects include:

Turning a proof-of-concept prototype into a production-ready electronics for the props (review and improve the schematics, design PCBs, assemble completed electronic parts)
Troubleshooting of existing electronic props and systems - being able to come to our location (Hawthorne, NJ), identify the problem and quickly fix it so the game is operational again.
Doing research to find the optimal way of implementing the necessary prop functionality.

You:

Love microelectronics, understand it, and ready to tinker with it
Have experience designing and building electronic devices - from breadboard prototype to a working product
Know how to design PCBs and how to prepare fabrication order
Have experience working with Arduino, ESP and other popular microcontrollers
Have experience working with various sensors and peripheral devices
Are ready to learn new things, to experiment with new components and technologies and to create unusual, crazy and impossible devices!

Even better if you:

Know how to program microcontrollers
Have experience with MQTT and/or NodeRED (and/or other IoT technologies)
Love puzzles, games and escape rooms!
